I am Andre, a simple man who likes burgers with extra onion rings (always). When I went to Comic Con 2024, I was simply expecting to buy some burgers and meet some interesting people for the weekend. 

Little did I know what was in store for me (thankfully, it also included burgers). 

I met John-Luther and Gesche while wearing a hawaiin shirt (my attempt at cosplaying Hunter S Thompspn, the bonzo journalist). JL was wearing a tie, suspenders with cyberpunk glasses. I thought he was cosplaying as a middle aged accountant with a mid life crisis at first.

Gesche was clad in a beautiful white and gold Elvish outfit and had sparkles in her eyes everytime she looked at JL.

While I was enjoying some laughs playing with my new middle aged accountant friend, Gesche walked past. JL's eyes quickly followed with a huge smile. 

"Thats my girlfiend you know. She's really good in Magic" he said while his chest puffed with pride. 

There was a strange twinkle in his eye as he said "girlfriend". It was like he was letting me in on a secret.

Little did I know that my new friend's elvish girlfriend would quickly turn into his elvish fiancee when he proposed on the main stage to her 2 hours later. 

Since then, I have grown to deeply enjoy, celebrate and love JL and Gesche as good friends and life companions. 

From lizard earrings (ask JL about this), to free vitamin advice and injections (ask Gesche), their love, bond and friendship have made my life infinitely richer. 

JL may be useless in Padel (JL - dont delete this!), but he is a deeply caring friend. He is an honourable man and I am proud to call him and Gesche my friends.

My name is Eckhard, and I can spend days bragging about this awesome sister of mine - Gesche. But my word, putting it into a short message has been such a task. In the 27 years she has had the honour of being my sister, she tested my patience and loyalty by sitting me through 15 seasons of America's Next Top Model. In return, I tested her patience by being a little shit of a little brother, as little brothers are (and should be). Then, around a decade ago, a less than magical event on a trip to the magical Disney World cemented a friendship between siblings, which grew as strong as the silence we vowed to keep us out of trouble.

Anyone who has known my sister for a while has seen different versions, but this weird little comic book geek with the tall bearded guy seems to be the happiest of them. The bearded fella is not too bad either, and he makes a mean braaivleis and is unnecessarily good at board games.

My name is Hanno. I am JL’s wisest and fittest friend and a pilot to boot. Okay, okay! I am just old, can outrun JL and have a little drone. Like so many magical people, I met JL across the table scattered with cardboard. After laying out lots and lots of cardboard, JL proved himself to be a genuine and caring human, a good friend and the one person I trust to hand the braai tongs to. He may or may not have bribed his way into the position of braai master by the way of sweet bread.

And, as is the case with all good blokes, his way-better half is the elf that journeys next to him. With her infectious smile, Gesche unashamedly steals the hearts of all those who meet her. Most importantly, when she says jump, JL is known to ask how high, how fast and how far. Of course, the person that benefits most of this is JL himself.

It is about time we get to celebrate the beautiful love these two have for each other and launch them into the next phase of their lives and journey together. L’Chaim!

I am Duan , I met JL about 24 years ago when he was still young and afraid of snails - now he is just afraid of snails. You might think it’s funny, but he did not think so every time I was chasing him around our parents’ yard. (Yes I said our parents - its hard to believe I know. I got the looks and he got the brains, beard and good luck. I mean he did find the love of his life.)

JL was a completely different person before he met Gesche and she has made him a better, happier and calmer person. But that is what happens when you find the one. She just needs to teach him to be a better MTG player!

I met this beautiful lady at gym. Gym ain't my thing so as you can imagine on Day 1 of doing gym, I had absolutely no idea what I was doing. I looked around and saw a vibrant, gorgeous dynamite that came in a small package. She was vibrant and was speaking to everyone at the gym. She oozed confidence and drew everyone's attention at the gym. I went up to her to ask for help and that's when I figured we both didn't know what the hell we were doing😂

From that day we clicked like a Parker Pen😍 We encouraged one another to go to gym after work and had loads of fun gymming and going on girl dates together. Our energies matched and we became inseparable ever since ❤

I met the crazy couple when they started playing MTG at the Bat Cave with me and my man, since then have become great friends spending many evenings playing card games or many weekends playing MTG or board games or continuing our dungeons and dragons campaign

We have spent many hours laughing and spending time in eachothers company and always just have a good time it's always a blast.
